Research Resource Articles—A New Feature for Molecular Endocrinology

John Cidlowski, Mariel Birnbaumer, Don DeFranco, Mary Hunzicker-Dunn, Donald McDonnell, Paul Pilch, Ming-Jer Tsai and Maggie Haworth, Managing Editor

The editors of Molecular Endocrinology are pleased to announce the introduction of a new category (class or form) of publication: Research Resources. These articles are meant to present the most current and important work done with microarrays, proteomics, genomics, metabolomics, structural biology, computational biology, and computer programs, as well as other relevant research data sets.

The first of these articles, "GRIS: Glycoprotein-Hormone Receptor Information System", by Joost Van Durme, Florence Horn, Sabine Costagliola, Gert Vriend, and Gilbert Vassart, appears in this issue.

These manuscripts are subject to the same stringent peer-review as our original research articles and minireviews. In structure, they will differ from original research articles in that they: (1) will not be required to contain the same mechanistic focus, and (2) generally will not exceed a total of four pages in length. Acceptance of manuscripts will be contingent on scientific content, broad appeal, and usefulness to studies in the area of molecular endocrinology. Authors are encouraged to make use of our online Supplemental Data feature to present further work that supports the content of the Research Resource submissions.

We are excited by the possibilities presented by Research Resources and look forward to your submissions.
